Bubsiekins : A Home!

A Home!

What was a home to you? When you were younger, prior to kids and before life became abit more serious?
I was thinking about this, this evening with Enigma's first album playing and cooking for my boys. When I was younger, single and before children, my idea of my home was a incense, music and art making induced camper van of some sort, with a long hair hippy as a partner and four kids in tow...

At 40 now, I am still the same hippy, in my mind a home is still a fun, filled incense smelling  interesting place with cool stuff to look and a Buddha or 4,  no matter size or area that you live in after all home is where the people that live in it are and who you want to call friends!!! But I have noticed upon ageing that some friends I hold dear (sadly)  have changed in this idea, now home to them goes by the size, the area you live, where the furniture you brought is from and if you have a cleaner or not??
Unfortunately for me i still dearly want to stay in touch with these friends and hold them in deep regards as i always have, nothing for me has changed apart from us getting older bu t sadly for them these other things have changed the way they see me........I am still the same person just got a few greys now and maybe abit more nutty!

New Makes

The weather has been lovely and warm so we have been beaching it and collecting stones and making stuff in the garden, have you?

40.

I am turning 40 on the 21st June and I am not sure how I meant to feel about it, does it mean i am meant to act more my age dress the age....Narrrr can't see that happening, i wanted to mark the occasion by doing something big, but haven't come up with anything. I would have loved to gone diving, jumped out of a plane or got a really cool tattoo done on my arm that I have in mind, but alsa none of these ideas are attainable at the moment soo I think I shall just go with the flow and see where it takes me.
The weather has been lovely and the garden is coming out in a million different colours and smells  which i adore.
Bless you all :) Ems

May so far....

Well we have finally waved goodbye to Chicken Pox that came for a over long visit :o) just waiting for the spots to fade. Had exam at Uni that was very stressful and not very confident with results but hey ho. Sold and delivered another collages to a lovely chap and today I won a pair of barefoot sandals more about that when they arrive.

Today on the home ed front me and the boys started our Vikings topic, we watch a few documentaries and then made shields and swords and the boys wrote their names in runes, well big brother helped little brother.

Spent time in the garden as weather so lush and made some veggie dahl that was yum with cashew raita and started on some sugar crystals.

Animal Magic.

I am typing this post after absolutely no sleep as my youngest has chickenpox and didn't sleep at all last night so nor did mummy, both shattered today but at least the sun is happy and bright which will cheer us up.

One of my collages went on display at a exhibition at The Beaney in Canterbury yesterday and i went to the meet the artist get together with my lovely mum but couldn't stay long cause my little man being poorly. I am so pleased that I got picked as one of the lucky artist, excuse the not so great photo's it was very busy so hope to get better one when I go in next time.

I also made a Hippy/Medicine pouch that I will eventually list in my Etsy shop.

Making celebrating and living.

It's a big birthday month March and we had my eldest turning 9 and then hubbie 48, we have had lots of fun and been busy homeschooling too. Lifebook has been going on slowly in the background and preparing for a piece of my work to be on exhibit next month.
Enjoyed a birthday cakes of a rather strange teenage mutant ninja turtle victoria sponge and a fresh banana and salted caramel and cream cheese icing cake. Lots of birthday gifts and fun. What have you been up to?

Tired.

It's been a busy yet very tiring week, the weather has been gorgeous on some days but pretty pants for the most part, wet, cold and windy. We've been busy with a big topic on snakes, making bits, play gyms and parties. We had the delight of going to a lovely friends magic party today which was nice as it was blowing a gale outside and all of us had a chance to catch up with old friends made at school  and make plans for the future, really lovely and fun.
Came home to daddy having cooked dinner which is huge too.

My boys silly faces after fun with balloons.

Tulips from my biggest boy for Valentines day.

A little mixed media collage by me from today, sunshine indoors whilst its blowing a gale, wet and cold outside.

Oh no the car....

Well the week started off well as my eldest had a activity day with a friend doing Archery, Falconry and Wood Crafts, but on the way home our car decided to play up, so now we have no car, so had to cancel a number of things and one very important catch up with my best friend who i haven't seen for a while which made me very sad :(
But we have been busy going for local walks, the boys have started making some volcano pencil holders and very busy doing science experiments.

Hope everyone is enjoying the half term if their kiddies are in school and  enjoying the sunshine being out. More soon.

Checking in....

Yet another busy week of fun, we have had trips to the library, play gym, family and lots of crafts and cooking along with maths and english. It has been good, i am feeling very tired though and abit overwhelmed i think it is with the work i have to do this year and other things that are sitting in the back of my mind being a tad niggerly.

Made some gorgeous feta and spinach roll they were devine. Also been playing with some ideas for wall hangings and pendants.

A New Collage and Week Three of Home School/ Education/Life whatever you prefer!

Evening All,

Had another busy day but also a nice treat to the movies to see "Big Hero 6" which was great really funny. The Boys are still slowly getting into things asking to read, do a bit of Maths and English amongst all the Art & Crafts we always do. We had a charity shop hunt in the snow (it didn't settle) for resources and found some great new things, lots of books for Maths and English, two Science kits and even a silk painting kit all unused, brilliant, I have to be honest never thought of hitting these shops until a bunch of people advised doing it that also home Eddin their children.

I am slowly getting my book ready for my uni exam but feeling a bit lost there I think overwhelmed making sure my boys are fine its on my mind at the moment and can't concentrate on much else, hoping that will pass next week as really need to crack on with things. Managed however to get a new collage done during the day with the boys doing there bits too.
Just checking in really, just to say hi.

Week Two of home schooling, i think? Meant to be de schooling but boys have wanted to do stuff....

Hey All,

Well I think it's week two! Yes of our home schooling journey. We have had a few days indoors in a row as it has been cold with even a little snow and my eldest really does feel the cold, bless him so we try and keep him well and warm. We did however go out for a little bike ride/walk but not for too long as too chilly.

We have been playing a lot of board games, Game of Life! and Monopoly are favourite's at the moment, we have been learning maths and reading with readingeggs http://readingeggs.co.uk/ and mathseeds http://mathseeds.co.uk/ my eldest has been reading and doing his maths on  https://www.khanacademy.org/math . So pretty busy considering they well my eldest is meant to be de schooling, we have also been looking at Harry Potter as both my boys really love the movies and books, we are at the start of making our own spells and spell books, we did a few experiments yesterday with food colouring, baking soda and vinegar that went down treat coloured foam every where.
My boys always have done lots of art and crafts as its part and parcel of having a mum artist like me, they took part in one of my Life book 2015 classes http://www.willowing.org/life-book-2015/ on a Feather Affirmation and they did a wonderful job and enjoyed listen and watching Tamara very much, how could you not she is just awesome, check her page out you won't regret it at all.
